Hey, this is Brian Therrien here. Sharing with you a resource that I think is phenomenal.
Thanks to Brenda who made me aware of this. It’s called mercy medical angels, and it helps people that are in need of treatment or assistance for something that is not in their local geographical area. So I’m on the testimonials page. And of course, I’ll put the website below this video when I’m done, and some examples of what these individuals have been able to get assistance with.
Well, first of all, Brenda, who referred me to this, needed to have some treatment done. That was, I don’t know how many miles away. I want to say, like 75, and the gas back and forth was pricey. So she applied and got gas card assistance, and I’ll go through the different types of assistance you can get in a minute.
But, for this situation, a couple of examples, this is for Sonya, she needed training for a service dog, and the training wasn’t in her area. So she applied and was able to get assistance to get like to and from training. And then Brandon, he needed some, I’m just referring to my notes here. He needed some unique surgery and there wasn’t a surgeon in his geo area. So he was able to get assistance from the angels to do that. And then Kelly, who had cancer and needed a mastectomy, lived in a rural area. Wasn’t able to get that done.
The last one is Trevor, Trevor’s situation was that he was a returned veteran, and had significant PTSD. His doctor suggested that he go to a retreat, which was not in the local area. So we got assistance to do that.
Hopefully this will give you a feel for some of the situations that can be helped. Under the patient’s stories you can learn more about the work that they are doing.
The different types of assistance could be an airline ticket that you need to go somewhere outside of your area, it could be that you need ground transportation which could be a train or other ground transportation, or like in Brenda’s situation a Gas card for something that’s more than 50 miles away.
In certain areas they have pilot transportation which looks like mid-coast, mid-east coast in that area. so come on in here you can request assistance.
