Disability Community Support

My goal in this web log (blog) is to provide you support and a place to find resources and help during what is probably one of the most frustrating, frightening and costly times you are facing; a time of disability.

Much of my work focuses on financial support. There are links to interviews on how to apply and win your benefits, maximize your chances of winning, maximize your benefits and information about jobs.

Much like life, I recognize that information about disability benefits is 3-dimensional. The first dimension being you – the most important part. A second dimension would be what I try to provide often – the tangible benefits, the information about the financial and benefits pieces. A third dimension is one that is VERY critical – one that we will call community.

Community involves your support network. Often those with disability find their community of support has significantly decreased. Many times this is a result of no longer having coworkers to interact with daily or being unable to easily get out and about within your physical community.

Other times not being involved in a community means just not having emotional energy to interact with others. It might take an extraordinary amount of energy for you or your loved one to make it through a day, much less interact within their community; yet that is precisely what people need to do to help stave off depression and the feeling of isolation!

Humans are not meant to live in a vacuum! From birth, we crave interaction with others. When we impose isolation upon ourselves, we suffer.

To fill the gap that is created by disability, we have created an entire community devoted to you and, like this site; it is FOR YOU, BY YOU, AND ENTIRELY FREE! Something I am particularly pleased to tell you, is that the site team knows how you feel and what you have gone through. They have all been there, and struggle with YOUR same issues!

A team of people who are disabled and can think, feel and have many experiences and contacts to help you moderates the Disability Digest Community.

Please drop by and have a look around. We invite you to sit back, put your feet up and help us help each other!

Most Sincerely,

Brian

But here’s the hard truth: Many people who should qualify still get denied. Not because they aren’t sick. Because their medical records don’t clearly show their limitations. Not their condition. Their limitations. We recently spoke with Attorney James Mitchell Brown, ...

What 52 Years of Disability Law Teaches About Getting Approved

If you’re exhausted from explaining your condition over and over again, you’re not alone. Many Social Security disability applicants — and even people already receiving SSDI or SSI — feel stuck in this frustrating loop: You say you’re struggling. Your doctor writes “stable” or “doing fine.” Social Security reads the record and assumes you can function. And you’re left wondering ...

Diagnosis Isn’t  What Gets and Keeps Disability Benefit

If you depend on disability benefits, your income is at risk in 2025 and 2026. ➤ SSA is increasing medical reviews. ➤ COLA raises are small (2.5% in 2025, 2.7% projected in 2026) but Medicare premiums are climbing even faster (11.6% jump expected in 2026). ➤ Miss one notice or deadline, and you could lose months of benefits. The good ...
