Disabled? Watch Out For These Killer Medications

In an earlier post, I railed on and on about Methadone, and its inherent destructive nature. So, too, the drugs Enbrel,Humira, Cimzia, and Remicade to mention but just a few which are rushed through the FDA inspection and medical trials process.  These drugs are primarily used to treat arthritis—-pain killers.

The FDA reviewed 240 reports of histoplasmosis in patients taking Enbrel, Humira or Remicade, most of whom reside in the Ohio River and Mississippi River valleys, home to harmful funguse.
Wikipedia defines histoplasmosis thus:

Histoplasmosis, also known as Darling’s disease,[1][2] is a disease caused by the fungus Histoplasma capsulatum. Symptoms of this infection vary greatly, but the disease primarily affects the lungs. Occasionally, other organs are affected; this is called disseminated histoplasmosis, and it can be fatal if untreated. Histoplasmosis is common among AIDS patients because of their lowered immune system.

The drugs in question suppress our immune system. Our immune system guards us from infections and is the basis of vaccination protection.  One would hope the logic of maintaining a strong immune system is not lost on the eager manufacturers of these medicines, but that appears not to be the case.
So, the FDA then issues warnings, and is ultimately forced to pull the medicines altogether.  Why aren’t these firms held accountable? No one seems to care—they pay the lawsuits and continue on.
Instead, we see a steady dose of slick advertising portraying people taking the medication, then dancing gaily about or joyfully participating in sporting events.  How about showing a funeral or two?
A great idea is to stay informed through the Internet.  The research can be tedious, but you have to look out for yourself these days.  Stay informed, stay healthy.
Beware all medications should be a mantra.  Always make sure your physician informs you fully about the medications prescribed you.  It would appear that many of them ought to be proscribed.
Until next time.
