Top 3 Questions After Being Approved For Social Security Disability Benefits!

I receive about 3 comments a day like the one below that say some thing like “I have FULL APPROVAL” I cannot thank you enough

Getting approved for Social Security Disability commonly triggers a whole new set of questions like the ones in red I have addressed below

I just wrote a testimony about how much your research helped me, I cannot thank you enough. I finally got a FULL APPROVAL! Now there are all these questions and I don’t know where to turn and they cannot even tell me what my monthly benefit amount is? And I had a terrible attorney, but they are saying that I will have to pay taxes on my benefits because of my husband working? Do they make you pay taxes on your taxes? Please help! I would appreciate anything you can tell me.

Thanks so much!! That doesn’t seem like enough but its all I have right now, no checks in the mailbox yet.

To find out your check amount is follow the directions in lesson 2 of the SSDI mini course.

Regarding when your check will arrive ….. I have learned from members that the monthly check typically starts 2-3 months after you are awarded and the back benefits often take up to 6 months to be paid.

It is possible that you have to pay taxes, The short story is …If you are filing on your own (single) and your income more than $25,000 – you pay taxes. If you are filing on your with your spouse (jointly) and your income more than $32,000 – you pay taxes, To learn all about your tax responsibility go to this post
