So you think its easy to get disability

Although The Disability Digest has helped thousands get approved for Social Security Benefits there are some very concerning frustrating instances of cases denied like Bern’s below

Bern’s has offered to share his journey with me in hopes that it will make others realize that no matter how disabled you feel you are don’t assume you will get approved…

Hi Brian,

The messages are interesting but disability turned me down over and over again. The reason they cited was…. “You are not sick enough”. For the record. I was diagnosed with an inoperable malignant brain tumor. I haven’t been able to work since July 02 2006. Yep it will be 2 yrs tomorrow !

Apparently disability doesn’t consider a malignant inoperable brain tumor a real disability. – I went to 10 hospitals in NY/NJ. Hoping to get a different answer, alas it was not to be. They all had the same things to say. “There is nothing we can do. Go home and watch tv and we will give you plenty of pain meds so you won’t feel anything”. They gave me a few months to live but I’m. Still alive.

Maybe disability thought if I died they wouldn’t have to pay out anything. So to say I’m a little disappointed in the system is an understatement. After all, I have always had a job where taxes were automatically deducted before I received my portion of my paycheck and was naive and/or foolish to think that somehow entitled me to disability income in the unfortunate event that I needed it. I am a real person and have many real medical bills to prove it my name is Bernadette. I lived on the east coast for the past 30 yrs and recently moved to the west coast. You may quote me if you wish. You may also feel free to comment or contact me you have my email address.

Keep up the good work! Respectfully, Bern
